Well after 8 months of no competitions, SMNE were finally able to host the SMNE LC Distance Summer Championship Meet at the new Lane Cove Aquatic Centre.
With COVID safety and sun safety at the top of the list, the technical officials and volunteers donned the new SMNE Caps and hats, applied sunscreen and we were off and racing!
We started the day with the mixed 200IM event under the nice blue sunny skies.... and then the clouds rolled in... and then the rain started... but that didn't dampen the spirits of the technical officials or the 250 swimmers who raced down the black line and brought in some very nice PBs. Congratulations to the new NSW record holder, 13 year old Dom Melbourn from Warringah who smashed her PB in the 1500m Freestyle with an astounding 17:35.10.
We hope you enjoyed experiencing racing in an open pool, great practice for Nationals next year in the Gold Coast!
